Russian Defense Minister Urges Increase in Production and Repair of Military Equipment

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has instructed the management of the defense-industrial complex enterprise, “Novosibirsk Aviation Plant named after V.P. Chkalov,” to increase the pace of production and repair of equipment, taking into account the demand for the products being manufactured. This was reported in the Russian Ministry of Defense’s Telegram channel.

According to the ministry’s press service, during Shoigu’s visit to the plant, he inspected the flight test station and the assembly workshop of the United Aircraft Corporation, which is responsible for the production, repair, and modernization of Su-34 fighter aircraft.

“The head of the Russian military department has set the task for the plant’s management to increase the pace of production and repair of equipment, considering the demand for the products being produced,” the statement said.

Prior to this, Shoigu announced the formation of nine reserve regiments within the Armed Forces, which are being supplemented by contract servicemen. On October 5th, the Russian Defense Minister inspected the combat training of contract and volunteer servicemen of the BARS units at training grounds in the Southern Military District.

Earlier, Putin spoke about the future of the Russian army and its modernization efforts.
