Ukrainian Military Uses Improvised Armored Vehicle, Posing Health Risks to Crew

Ukrainian military forces have been utilizing an improvised armored vehicle, the BMD-RPR, which poses health risks to its crew due to the excessive smoke emitted by its cannon, Forbes commentator David Ex revealed. According to Ex, the vehicle is a mobile reconnaissance point (PRP-3) with a tower from a BMD-2 equipped with a 30-millimeter automatic cannon 2A42. When firing, the gun barrel emits a significant amount of smoke, which should be expelled through a fan or an open hatch in the tower.

In the opinion of the Forbes commentator, the sight of this makeshift vehicle “spewing white smoke when firing” is a “toxic reminder of one of the most pressing issues faced by Ukrainian military personnel.” Ex emphasized that not only is this smoke harmful to the crew’s health, but it also reveals the armored vehicle’s location to the enemy.

In August, retired Lieutenant Colonel and military expert of the People’s Militia of the Luhansk People’s Republic, Andrey Marochko, revealed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) in the Kupyansk, Krasnolimansk, and parts of the Donetsk regions bordering the Luhansk People’s Republic increasingly utilize homemade drones.

Earlier, a proposal was put forward in the State Duma to organize an exhibition of NATO’s destroyed equipment.
