Russian Defense Minister, Army General Sergei Shoigu, listened to reports from commanders at the headquarters of the joint troop grouping on October 5th. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported this through its Telegram press service. During the meeting, the minister called for thorough preparation of Russian contract servicemen and volunteers in reserve units. The minister also clarified that active work is currently underway in all planned directions. It was also reported that on this day, Shoigu inspected the combat readiness organization of volunteer servicemen in the BARS units at the training grounds of the Southern Military District. On October 3rd, Shoigu informed the leadership of the Russian Armed Forces during a thematic selector meeting that conscripts of the autumn draft campaign in 2023 will not be sent to the combat zone. Earlier, deputies were prohibited from traveling to the Eastern Military District without permission from Shoigu.
