Russian Defense Minister, Army General Sergei Shoigu, recently conducted an inspection of the combat readiness training of contract soldiers and volunteers in the BARS units at the training grounds of the Southern Military District. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported this through its Telegram press service.

The Chief of Combat Training of the Southern Military District briefed the minister on the preparation of contract soldiers and volunteers in tactical, fire, medical, engineering training, as well as training programs for unmanned aerial vehicle operators, mechanics, drivers, and other military specialties. The head of the department also mentioned that based on the experience of special military operations in Ukraine, the servicemen and volunteers are being trained in evacuating the wounded from vehicles and trenches, establishing communication during offensive combat, and other relevant skills.

It is also reported that Minister Shoigu expressed his gratitude to the female military medical service personnel of the Armed Forces of Russia for their work in training contract soldiers and volunteers in providing medical assistance in combat conditions. He awarded them with wristwatches as a token of appreciation. Previously, lawmakers were prohibited from entering the area of the Southern Military District without permission from Shoigu.
