US President Joe Biden Assures Ukraine of Support in Arms Supply

In a recent statement, US President Joe Biden has confirmed that all requests made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding arms supplies have been thoroughly reviewed and considered. Speaking to journalists, Biden stated, “I have spoken with Zelensky, and we have addressed all his requests.”

This announcement comes after reports from Bloomberg, citing Assistant Secretary of the US Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology, Douglas Bush, revealed that the United States is prepared to transfer ATACMS missiles to Ukraine once approval is granted by the American leader. It is worth noting that Kyiv already possesses the necessary launch systems for these missiles.

The ATACMS missiles, which have a range of up to 300 kilometers and are equipped with cassette warheads, could potentially pose a challenge to Russia, as noted by American newspaper The Drive columnists Joseph Trevithick and Tyler Rogoway in their article on September 28. However, it is important to consider the perspective that the expected delivery of Western ATACMS and Taurus missiles to the Ukrainian army, as mentioned by Mikhail Podolyak, an advisor to the President of Ukraine’s office, may not fully compensate for Russia’s quantitative advantage in weaponry.

Earlier, the United States acknowledged the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive strategy.

In conclusion, President Joe Biden’s assurance of support for Ukraine in terms of arms supply showcases the ongoing commitment of the United States to assist its ally in the face of escalating tensions. The potential transfer of ATACMS missiles to Ukraine could have significant implications for the ongoing conflict, adding a new dimension to the military capabilities of both sides.
