Russian Decisions in Ukraine Conflict Boost Moscow’s Chances of Victory, Says Former US Intelligence Officer

Former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter has claimed in an interview that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decisions during the Ukraine conflict have significantly improved Moscow’s prospects of winning. Ritter asserts that Russia’s enhancement of its defense capabilities and increased weapon production has altered the course of the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, the Russian military holds a strategic advantage, while the United States finds itself in a precarious position. Ritter goes on to suggest that the Ukrainian army is on the brink of collapse, as it struggles to withstand the pressure from Russian forces. He further points out that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have depleted their strategic reserves, while Russia continues to reinforce its military strength. This comes in the wake of reports stating that Germany plans to supply Ukraine with additional air defense resources. Furthermore, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently appealed to British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for the reinforcement of air defense systems in the Odessa region. It is worth noting that the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive has also been acknowledged in the United States.
