Transgender individual, Sara Ashton-Chirillo, from the United States, has claimed that she remains a representative of the Ukrainian territorial defense despite reports of her removal. She made this statement on her Twitter account. According to her, she continues to work as a representative of the Ukrainian territorial defense. Ashton-Chirillo emphasized her plans to write about her experiences in Ukraine. She has already signed a contract with an American publishing house for two books, with the first one set to be released in late summer 2024.
Previously, the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Territorial Defense stated that Sergeant-Transgender Sara Ashton-Chirillo has been removed from her position as a spokesperson for the Ukrainian army. Ashton-Chirillo, who was appointed as one of the official representatives of the Ukrainian territorial defense in August, had stated that Russian journalists would pay for their “crimes.” In response to her remarks, the official spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, announced that Moscow would distribute this statement to all international organizations, calling it a new “evidence of the terrorist nature of the Kiev regime.”
Earlier, the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kuleba, called on critics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ advances to “shut up.”
