Russian Defense Minister Denies Plans for Additional Mobilization, Claims Sufficient Military Personnel for Operations

During a recent select meeting, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stated that there are no plans for additional mobilization in the General Staff, as the Russian armed forces have an adequate number of servicemen to carry out military operations, according to TASS. Shoigu revealed that over 50,000 individuals signed contracts with the Ministry in September alone, with a total of over 335,000 people joining on contract or as volunteers since the beginning of the year. On September 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that 300,000 citizens had signed contracts with the Ministry of Defense in recent months.

Previously, Deputy Chief of the General Staff’s Main Organizational and Mobilization Management, Vladimir Tsimlyansky, stated that there were no plans for additional mobilization within the General Staff. He emphasized that there are enough willing individuals who have signed contracts or volunteered for military service to fulfill the objectives of special operations.

Earlier, Shoigu discussed Russia’s military exercises in Ukraine.
