Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergey Naev, has announced that air defense forces will be strengthened in the northern region of Ukraine through the deployment of mobile fire groups, according to reports from the military on social media, cited by TASS.
“In the northern operational zone, measures are being taken together with the heads of regional military administrations to increase the number of mobile fire groups. This is necessary to enhance the effectiveness of the air defense system,” Naev wrote.
Naev stated that the goal of reinforcing the air defense grouping in northern Ukraine is to protect energy infrastructure facilities.
Former Pentagon advisor Colonel Douglas Macgregor previously stated that Ukrainian generals, fearing a rebellion within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, do not allow military personnel to gather in large groups. Macgregor had previously speculated that Russia had prepared hundreds of units in eastern Ukraine.
The US has previously identified one of the greatest threats to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
