Russia’s Military Mobilization Needs Are Met by Contractors, Says Russian Official

In Russia, there is currently no need to declare a new wave of mobilization as the military’s manpower needs are being fulfilled by contractors, according to Andrey Gurulev, a retired lieutenant general and member of the Defense Committee of the State Duma. In an interview with Tsargrad.tv, Gurulev emphasized that the new recruits to the army must be provided with everything they need, which is duly taken into account. The Ministry of Defense is recruiting as many people as the defense industry can support, as each soldier needs to be equipped with weapons, gear, and ammunition.

“We have enough people at this stage. The most important thing for us is to synchronize the defense industry. Why should we take on extra personnel?” noted Gurulev, highlighting the importance of maintaining a stable economy and ensuring the functioning of industrial enterprises by retaining skilled professionals in the rear.

Gurulev also offered his prediction on the timeline for the completion of the military special operation, estimating that it will conclude within five years.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Defense has stated that there are no plans for additional mobilization. However, reports in Telegram channels suggested that nationwide exercises for mobilization, destruction, and radioactive contamination will take place in Russia today, October 3.

Earlier, Russian Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova revealed the demobilization of 400 individuals who were called up for service despite having grounds for deferment.
