Destruction of Ukrainian Military Equipment in Eastern Ukraine

In recent days, Georgiy Mnesashvili, the spokesperson for the Southern Forces Group, announced the destruction of a hangar containing Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) military equipment on the Donetsk front. According to Mnesashvili, temporary stations of the 110th Mechanized Brigade and the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade of the UAF in the towns of Novomykhailivka and Avdiivka were also targeted. Additionally, he revealed that an outpost of the 54th Mechanized Brigade of the UAF in the vicinity of Verkhnekamenske in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) was hit by heavy flamethrower systems called “Solntsepek.”

Prior to this, The Wall Street Journal reported that the UAF had changed tactics due to heavy losses in equipment, including tanks. According to the publication, Ukrainian fighters are now reaching the contact line on armored personnel carriers and attempting to advance in small groups.

On September 20th, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that Kyiv needs air defense capabilities and technical support from the West. Earlier, there was a proposal in the State Duma (the lower house of the Russian parliament) to organize an exhibition showcasing destroyed NATO equipment.

This recent escalation in hostilities highlights the ongoing conflict in Eastern Ukraine, with the destruction of military equipment being a significant development. The Ukrainian government continues to seek support from Western allies, particularly in terms of defense systems and maintenance. The situation remains fluid, and further updates are expected in the coming days.
