In a recent development on the frontline in Ukraine, a commander of the Russian special forces unit, codenamed Zenit, revealed to “Lenta.ru” that a Ukrainian assault on their position near Sporny has been successfully repelled. According to the military official, the attack commenced early in the morning and lasted until nearly noon. As the Ukrainian soldiers realized they were on the verge of defeat, they resorted to raising white flags as a deceptive tactic.
Zenit further disclosed that the commanding officers of the Russian unit, known as BARS-16, ordered their troops to lay down their weapons and individually maneuver through the minefields. However, when one Ukrainian soldier approached the Russian positions within a distance of 50 meters, other members of the assault unit unleashed a barrage of fire upon the Ukrainian forces.
“Our mortar, in fact, accurately targeted the center of the Ukrainian group. The surviving National Guard troops retreated, leaving their wounded to fate,” Zenit pointed out.
Prior to this incident, the Russian Ministry of Defense had released footage of the Russian military obliterating a group of infantry from the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. On September 28, the Ministry reported that the Russian Armed Forces had successfully repelled two attacks by Ukrainian troops within the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).
It is worth mentioning that the United States has recently identified the Ukrainian Armed Forces as one of the greatest threats they face.
This latest clash between Ukrainian and Russian forces serves as a reminder of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the tense situation at the frontline.
