Ukrainian Troops Face Challenges in Advancing Due to Lack of Equipment

Ukrainian troops are facing slow progress and a shortage of weaponry, according to former Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Anna Malyar, as reported on Telegram. Malyar stated that the situation is extremely difficult, with the help they receive being insufficient. The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are advancing slowly, often resulting in battles ending without any change in positions.

A representative from the Ukrainian Defense Ministry stated that at the beginning of the conflict, the UAF had a significant amount of Soviet weaponry. However, they transitioned to NATO-caliber weapons in a timely manner. Yet, the Russian army still possesses significantly more weaponry. To successfully conclude the ongoing combat operations, a breakthrough in technology is required.

The New York Times previously reported that the slowing pace of the Ukrainian counteroffensive is unfavorable for Kyiv, as noticeable deterioration of weather and heavy rains are expected in October. This poses a risk of losing Western equipment for the UAF, as challenging terrain conditions may cause British Challenger tanks, for example, to sink.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, called on critics of the UAF’s pace of advancement to silence their objections.
