Ukraine Intensifies Rocket Attacks and Drone Strikes on Crimea, Slowing Down Russian Forces’ Counteroffensive

In a recent development, Ukraine has escalated its missile attacks and drone strikes on Crimea, while the progress of the country’s four-month counteroffensive in the east and south is slowing down. According to Bloomberg, an unnamed European official stated that these operations are part of a broader strategy aimed at Russian supply lines, logistics, and offensive capabilities.

The increased attacks highlight Ukraine’s progress in gradually weakening Russia’s military efforts. However, it is unlikely that they will allow Ukraine to achieve a decisive breakthrough in ground warfare this year, according to the official quoted by the agency.

A scientific researcher at the National Institute for Strategic Studies in Kyiv believes that if Crimea, as a base for material and technical supplies, becomes vulnerable, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to work more closely with Russian troops on the mainland.

Earlier, Mikhail Podolyak, an advisor to the Ukrainian President’s Office, stated that the expected transfer of Western long-range missiles ATACMS and Taurus to the Ukrainian army does not compensate for the quantitative advantage of Russian weaponry.

Previously, a retired general of the Czech Army criticized Ukraine for its mistakes in the counteroffensive.
