Governor Alexander Gusev of the Voronezh region has announced in his Telegram channel that foreign citizens who sign contracts and join the military service in the region will receive a payment of 120,000 rubles. According to him, the authorities’ goal is to provide decent conditions and support to everyone who has decided to participate in the Special Military Operation (SMO).
“We initially made the decision not to differentiate between ‘our’ soldiers and ‘foreign’ ones. We continue to adhere to this approach,” wrote the regional leader. He noted that the circle of recipients of one-time financial assistance of 120,000 rubles to military personnel is expanding. Previously, as the official pointed out, payments began to be made to conscripts from Voronezh units, contract soldiers, mobilized individuals, and volunteers.
Gusev stated that foreign citizens who have signed a contract for military service through the Voronezh Regional Military Commissariat or the selection point for military service in Voronezh in 2023 will now be included in the list. Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev announced that over 325,000 people have been accepted into the ranks of the Russian army since the beginning of this year.
