Moscow, Sept 25 – RIA Novosti. The wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Elena Zelenska, expressed doubt regarding his potential candidacy in the upcoming presidential elections in 2024, according to Business Insider. She stated, “It will depend on whether our society still wants him as our president. If he feels that the Ukrainian society no longer wishes to see him as the leader of the country, then most likely he will not run for re-election.” Zelenska also admitted to American journalists that she did not fully support her husband’s decision to participate in the initial presidential elections.
The next presidential elections in Ukraine are scheduled to take place in 2024. As Zelensky himself had previously stated, holding elections during a state of war is prohibited. However, there is a possibility if the parliament supports the necessary legislative changes, funding is provided by the West, and international observers are present, including those “in the trenches.”
