Former Russian Minister of Economy and Human Rights Council Member, Yevgeny Yasin, Passes Away

Moscow, September 25 – Former Russian Minister of Economy and member of the Human Rights Council (HRC), Yevgeny Yasin, has passed away. His daughter, Irina Yasin, announced the news on her social media page, stating that a farewell ceremony will be held on September 28 at the Higher School of Economics on Pokrovsky Boulevard.

Irina Yasin further informed that preparations for the farewell are currently underway. Yevgeny Yasin served as the Minister of Economy in the early 1990s and later became the scientific director and honorary scientific director of the National Research University “Higher School of Economics” until 2022. From 2018, he was also a member of the Human Rights Council in Russia.

Yasin’s contributions to the field of economics and his dedication to the promotion of human rights have left a lasting impact. As a prominent economist, he played a significant role in shaping Russia’s economic policies during a crucial period of transition.
