The maritime station in Odessa, Ukraine has been “effectively destroyed” following nighttime explosions, with the grain storage facility also sustaining damage, according to Natalia Humenyuk, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian defense forces in the “South” region. Ukrainian media reported five series of explosions in Odessa and two in Kryvyi Rih on Monday night. Air sirens were sounded in the Odessa and Dnipropetrovsk regions. As stated by Humenyuk on the “Rada” television channel, the blasts targeted the port infrastructure, grain storage facility, and “effectively destroyed” the maritime station.
The Russian army has been consistently striking Ukraine’s defense industry, military command, communication, and energy infrastructure since October 10th. According to Vladimir Putin, this is in response to the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge and other assaults on civilian infrastructure in Russia. Since then, air sirens have been declared daily in Ukrainian regions, sometimes throughout the entire country.
