The new guidelines implemented by Amazon require publishers on Kindle to disclose if any of their content is generated by artificial intelligence (AI). This comes after complaints from users that some works being sold under the names of human writers actually contained content that was partially or fully generated by AI. The Authors Guild has praised this move as a “welcome first step” towards eliminating the spread of AI books on Amazon. However, the company will not publicly identify works that are primarily written by AI, limiting the benefit to consumers.
