A chilling video has emerged from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, capturing a disturbing incident off Bokeelia Fishing Pier in Florida. In a shocking turn of events, a 14-year-old boy from Riverview, Florida, has been charged with multiple felony charges, including second-degree murder with a weapon, after allegedly shooting his mother dead and injuring her boyfriend. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office wasted no time in announcing the charges against the teenager, who now faces felony charges of second-degree murder with a weapon, first-degree premeditated attempted murder with a firearm, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Authorities were alerted to the incident through 911 calls on Saturday, and upon arriving at the scene in the Summerfield subdivision, they were confronted by a 14-year-old boy who repeatedly pointed a firearm at his own head, threatening to take his own life. Deputies engaged in a 16-minute negotiation, resorting to firing a non-lethal projectile at the boy to prevent him from accessing the firearm again. Eventually, they managed to take him into custody.
Meanwhile, another distressing call came in reporting a man who had fled his home after being shot multiple times in the torso, hands, and face. This victim was later identified as the suspect’s mother’s boyfriend and was rushed to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition.
Tragically, the suspect’s mother was discovered lifeless in the driveway of a nearby home. Sheriff Chad Chronister revealed that deputies spoke to the boy’s older brother, who was present at the scene of the crime. According to the brother, he heard his mother and her boyfriend arguing before multiple gunshots rang out. As he emerged from his room, he witnessed the suspect shooting his own mother. In a horrifying twist, the suspect then turned the gun on his older brother, who managed to escape unharmed. Chronister believes that the 14-year-old first shot his mother’s boyfriend before cold-bloodedly executing his own mother following the argument.
As the investigation unfolds, it is worth noting that the suspect has no criminal history. The motive behind this heinous act remains unknown.
