Trump Accuses Pelosi of Insider Trading in Visa Stock Sales

Former President Donald Trump recently expressed his belief that Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) should be prosecuted over her husband’s stock trades ahead of a Justice Department lawsuit against Visa. During a press conference at Trump Tower in New York, the former president pointed out how Pelosi’s husband, Paul, sold 2,000 shares of Visa stock worth between $500,000 and $1 million on July 1. Financial disclosures reveal that this sale occurred one day before it was announced that Visa would be sued by the Department of Justice for allegedly illegally monopolizing the debit card market. Trump suggested that Nancy Pelosi may have had prior knowledge about the lawsuit, prompting her to tip off her husband. In response to these claims, a spokesperson for Pelosi stated that she does not own any stocks and has no prior or subsequent involvement in any transactions related to them.
