Former President Donald Trump experienced a heartwarming moment with his grandchildren during a Saturday rally in battleground North Carolina. The Republican nominee brought two of his grandchildren, Luke and Carolina, onto the stage while speaking to enthusiastic rallygoers in Wilmington.
Luke and Carolina Trump are the children of Eric and Lara Trump, both of whom attended the event as well. In his speech, Trump acknowledged his grandchildren and their significance within his family: “We also have. a very important member of my family. He didn’t care what I said and that was actually much better,” Trump remarked with a smile. He went on to share that his daughter-in-law Lara grew up in North Carolina, before continuing the rest of his speech against his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris.
Prior to the heartwarming moment with his grandchildren, Trump stressed the importance of getting the vote out in the Tar Heel State during earlier parts of the rally: “Exactly 45 days from now, we’re going to win North Carolina,” he predicted confidently.
