FBI Probe Uncovers Alleged Attempt on Former President Trump’s Life: Ryan Routh Faces Charges

Ryan Wesley Routh, a convicted felon, has been investigated by the FBI following a tip about him owning a firearm in violation of his legal status, announced during an FBI press conference on Monday. Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey Veltri, who leads Miami’s FBI field office, shared that the report came in when Routh was residing in Hawaii.

The FBI pursued the allegations against Routh by interviewing the complainant but found no verification of the initial information. The unsubstantiated claims were then forwarded to local law enforcement in Honolulu for further investigation.

Routh, 58 years old, was arrested on Sunday when he was seen at a distance of approximately 400-500 yards from former US President Donald Trump while Trump was golfing at his course in Palm Beach, Florida. He was apprehended after a Secret Service agent noticed the barrel of a gun protruding through a fence and subsequently fired shots at Routh.

The alleged assassin was pursued by law enforcement officers before being arrested, and he appeared in court on Monday with what seemed to be a smile on his face while facing federal gun charges.
