A source close to the singer’s defense team revealed that he would likely be sorting documents and organizing files in a New York, California, or Tennessee courtroom.
The “Suit and Tie” singer was keen to reach a deal ahead of his upcoming Canadian tour dates next month. With a felony conviction on his record, Timberlake would not have been allowed entry into Canada, where he makes significant money from performances. The source added that local prosecutors were also interested in pursuing a plea due to the weak case against the pop star. There was no blood evidence and Timberlake refused the Breathalyzer, meaning the prosecution relied on observational testimony from an officer who did not recognize him.
Timberlake pleaded guilty to driving while alcohol impaired in Sag Harbor Village Court on Friday, receiving a small fine and being ordered to author a public service announcement alongside his community service hours. The singer’s 2025 BMW was pulled over by police after allegedly blowing a stop sign and swerving out of its lane during the early hours of June 18th. Timberlake had been warned earlier in the night not to drive by an officer who later stopped him.
