Joe Biden’s Lighthearted Moment: Bantering with a Trump Supporter at 9/11 Event

On Wednesday, President Joe Biden had a lighthearted moment during a 9/11 commemoration event where he jokingly referred to having a “senior moment.” The incident occurred when the President was asked to sign a presidential seal hat for a Trump supporter. As the crowd laughed, he playfully responded by saying, “I don’t remember my name,” referring to his age of 81 years old.

The exchange took place at an event honoring first responders in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, with video footage shared on TikTok. The Trump supporter, an older man wearing suspenders, initiated the conversation by asking Biden if he remembered his name. Biden then jokingly agreed that he was slow and referred to himself as an “old guy.

The Trump supporter, who was adamant about being a “young timer,” also offered to sign his Trump hat for Biden, but the president quickly declined the offer. Instead, he briefly placed the Trump hat over the baseball cap he was already wearing, and the man praised him as an “old fart.

The incident took place shortly after Biden announced his decision to bow out of the presidential election on July 21, following a disastrous debate against former President Donald Trump that raised concerns about his mental fitness. During the event in Shanksville, Biden mentioned how he saw himself in the Trump supporter, reminding him of “the guys I grew up with.

While signing autographs for attendees at the commemoration event, the President also cautioned the crowd against “eating cats and dogs,” a reference to Trump’s largely debunked claims about migrants eating household pets in a small Ohio town. The Trump supporter argued that the pets tasted “good,” like “Kentucky Fried Chicken.

The video of Biden bantering with the man and trying on the Trump hat quickly went viral online, garnering various responses from users on social media. Some commented on the apparent display of “bipartisan unity” in honor of the solemn 9/11 anniversary, while others continued to joke about the incident.

In a follow-up statement, the White House emphasized that the President’s actions were meant to demonstrate unity and respect for first responders during this important commemoration event. However, many commentators continued to make jokes about Biden’s apparent “senior moment.
