Adams’ Biblical Defense: NYC Mayor Compares Himself to Job Amid FBI Raids and Investigations

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has compared himself to Job from the Bible, amid numerous federal investigations into his administration. Speaking at the Power and Authority Evangelical Ministry, Adams called the Book of Job his “favorite” Bible story, stating that when one is in dark places, they are not burials but plantings.

Mayor Adams’ comments come shortly after federal agents raided the homes of several top aides, including First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Phil Banks. The FBI also raided the home of Adams’ key fundraiser, Brianna Suggs, last year. No official has been formally accused of any crime yet.

Former President Donald Trump and others have suggested that Adams is the victim of a lawfare attack by the weaponized Department of Justice due to his criticism of the Biden-Harris open-border policy. In response, Mayor Adams stated that he was “not aware of any misdoings” within his administration and insisted he had told officials to follow the rules.

As he left the Power and Authority Evangelical Ministry this weekend, Mayor Adams urged congregants to pray for him and his administration, stating, “Pray—pray for them all. Pray for me.
