Disastrous Daughter: Beheading Betrayal in Levittown

A Pennsylvania man accused of beheading his father and posting a video of the act on YouTube has claimed that he did so because he believed the older Mohn had “betrayed” him by working for the federal government. Justin Mohn, 32, of Levittown, told reporters during a court appearance this week that he and other people around America believe the federal government is destroying the country and needs to be overthrown. He argued that his father, Michael Francis Mohn, who was an engineer at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia office, had “betrayed” him by working for the government. Justin Mohn faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, making terrorist threats and robbery. Prosecutors said the younger Mohn planned to kill his father on January 30th, with an alleged YouTube video titled “Mohn’s Militia – Call to Arms for American Patriots” serving as a call for people to join him in overthrowing the US government and capturing and killing federal agents and judges. Mohn was declared competent to stand trial last month, with his formal arraignment scheduled for October 11th.
