Former President Donald Trump criticized Vice President Kamala Harris during Tuesday’s presidential debate, accusing her of “hating Israel.” He highlighted that she refused to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he made a significant speech in Congress. Trump also claimed that if she were president, Israel would not exist within two years and mentioned his own track record for accurate predictions.
Harris skipped Netanyahu’s July 24 address to a joint session of Congress over concerns about Israel-Hamas war handling and chose instead to attend a gathering of Zeta Phi Beta members in Indianapolis. Trump estimated that if Harris were president, Israel would not exist within two years and added his hope for being wrong about this prediction.
Furthermore, Trump accused Harris of hating “the Arab population” as well. He stated that with her in the presidency, Israel would be gone along with Arabs and Jewish people. Trump claimed that if he was president, the Israel-Hamas war “would have never happened.
On the other hand, Harris vowed to support Israel’s ability to defend itself, particularly against threats from Iran. She also backed President Biden’s proposal for an independent Palestinian state, stating a need for rebuilding Gaza and providing security for Palestinians in a two-state solution.
Harris dismissed Trump’s allegations that she hates the Jewish state, asserting her longstanding support for Israel and the Israeli people throughout her career and life. The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) sided with Trump, stating he was “100% right” about Harris’ stance on Israel. The RJC also criticized Harris’ support for a two-state solution, arguing that it would reward terrorists and make her an unfit Commander in Chief.
