Collin Gosselin Accuses Mother Kate of Zip-Tying Abuse and False Mental Health Diagnosis

Collin Gosselin, a former child star on the TV series “Jon and Kate Plus Eight,” has accused his mother, Kate Gosselin, of mistreatment during his childhood. In an interview with the US Sun, Collin alleges that Kate would “zip-tie” him and lock him in the basement as punishment when he was young. He claims this happened frequently and that he often spent hours or even days alone in the dark while she monitored him on security cameras. The 20-year-old also alleges his mother had him admitted to a mental health facility at age 11 after he was diagnosed with several psychiatric conditions, which he says he never actually had, and even shared private medical records as evidence. Collin’s siblings were not subjected to the same treatment, he said.

Collin alleges that Kate started locking him in the basement for “most of the day” when he was around eight or nine years old, after which point he stopped going to school. His claims are supported by his father Jon Gosselin, who won a bitter 14-year-long custody dispute with Kate. Medical records submitted as part of the custody dispute showed that Collin reported Kate’s alleged abuse to his counselors and teachers at the time. The former reality star was later admitted to the mental health facility with a bogus diagnosis and spent 22 months there, receiving no formal education during that time.
