Disturbing footage captured a nurse walking home from the grocery store alongside her boyfriend, only for him to later allegedly kill her while under the influence of drugs. According to officials from the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, 26-year-old Andy Chu has confessed to killing his girlfriend Zoey Suyun He during a visit from Hawaii over the weekend.
The chilling video shows the couple entering their townhome with groceries on August 9th. The following day, Chu was seen alone on camera, pulling an object wrapped in a towel out from under his shirt as he left the home. Chu’s friends later took him to a hospital because of his erratic behavior, Fox 13 reported.
Police and firefighters discovered He’s battered body in Chu’s flooded townhome on August 10th after neighbors reported water pouring out of the residence. The victim was found on her back, covered in blood with a cut on her throat and an ice pack on her neck to support her head.
Chu was arrested at the University of Washington Medical Center on Sunday after allegedly groping a nurse’s breasts and attempting to pull her head down by hooking the back of her neck. He told police he had taken two “molly” pills and smoked marijuana while with his girlfriend. Chu confessed to choking, twisting her neck, and holding He underwater in the tub before yanking her out and trying unsuccessfully to revive her through bizarre means, such as sprinkling Acai powder over her body and placing a golf ball-like object in her mouth to fix her jaw.
Investigators believe that He was killed sometime between August 9th and 10th when Chu left the house for the last time. The couple had been dating since January, with both having attended the same high school in Hawaii, where He was previously employed at the Hawaii State Capitol during the 2022 legislative session.
Chu has been charged with murder in the first degree and first-degree assault for assaulting the nurse. His bail was set at $5 million, with his next court date scheduled for August 28th.
