On Saturday afternoon, two teenage boys were stabbed at a Manhattan fast-food restaurant after getting into an argument with a man in his 20s inside the Panda Express at 2852 Broadway, near 11th Street. The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m., according to police reports.
The victims, ages 16 and 17, were stabbed during the altercation with the man in his 20s. A New York Police Department (NYPD) spokesperson stated that the 16-year-old sustained a wound to his lower back while the 17-year-old was stabbed in the abdomen. Fortunately, their injuries were not life-threatening, and both teens sought medical attention at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital via private means.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection to the incident. Police are actively searching for a man in his 20s with curly hair, who was last seen wearing a black hooded shirt, black jeans, and a blue mask. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the stabbing, running off in an unknown direction, according to police reports.
A manager at the Panda Express declined to comment on the incident. The fast-food restaurant is situated approximately half a mile from Columbia University, making it a popular spot for students and nearby residents alike.
