FBI Investigates Assassination Attempt on Trump: Uncertain Bullet or Shrapnel Injury

The FBI is set to interview former President Donald Trump as part of its investigation into the assassination attempt made against him earlier this year. As a standard procedure in such cases, the agency is looking for a victim impact statement from Trump, according to CNN. In response to the attack, which resulted in the death of a heroic father and injuries sustained by several other victims, the FBI has consistently maintained that it was an attempted assassination against the former president.

Controversy surrounding this investigation arose when FBI Director Christopher Wray expressed uncertainty over whether Trump had been hit by a bullet during the attack. During his testimony to Congress, Wray stated that there might be some question as to whether the former president was struck by shrapnel or glass instead of a bullet.

There’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear,” Wray told Congress. He went on to say, “As I sit here right now, I don’t know whether that bullet, in addition to causing the grazing, could have also landed somewhere else.

The former president quickly responded to Wray’s comments through his Truth Social account, clarifying that he had indeed been hit by a bullet during the shooting. Trump accused the FBI Director of not being sure about whether he was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet, and stated that the hospital described it as a “bullet wound to the ear.” He criticized the once-storied FBI for losing the confidence of Americans due to its uncertainty over his injuries.

The FBI issued a press release after Wray’s testimony to confirm that Trump was struck by a bullet fired from the rifle of the deceased subject in the case. Despite this clarification, the former president called on Wray to resign after watching his entire congressional hearing.

If that is the case, Director Wray should resign immediately from the FBI, and stop ‘sweet talking’ Congress every time he goes up,” Trump said. Wray has to resign, and NOW, for LYING TO CONGRESS.

In addition to calling for Wray’s resignation, the former president announced that he would be returning to Butler, Pennsylvania, the site of the shooting, for another rally. He expressed excitement for the event, which will honor the firefighting hero who lost his life in the attack and celebrate the bravery of those injured during the assassination attempt.

I WILL BE GOING BACK TO BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA, FOR A BIG AND BEAUTIFUL RALLY, HONORING THE SOUL OF OUR BELOVED FIREFIGHTING HERO, COREY, AND THOSE BRAVE PATRIOTS INJURED TWO WEEKS AGO. WHAT A DAY IT WILL BE — FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT! STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS,” Trump said on his social media account.
