A Republican lawmaker from Tennessee has introduced articles of impeachment against Vice President Kamala Harris, accusing her of “high crimes and misdemeanors” in response to her handling of the migrant crisis as “border czar” and for allegedly misleading the American people about President Joe Biden’s physical and cognitive decline.
The resolution filed by Rep. Anthony Ogles (R-Tenn.) was posted on the X platform by POLITICO’s Olivia Beavers. In it, he accuses Harris of failing to uphold her oath to the U.S. Constitution in her capacity as Border Czar and for not invoking the 25th Amendment when President Biden’s mental and physical fitness became apparent.
Ogles told The Daily Caller that “idiot Kamala Harris has repeatedly refused to uphold her oath to the U.S. Constitution, and she must be impeached.” He cited her alleged incompetence as Border Czar, which he claims allowed a crisis of drugs, rape, and murder to flood American streets.
He also said that she “knowingly breached the public’s trust by failing to invoke the 25th Amendment after it became clear that corrupt Joe Biden was mentally and physically unfit to serve as president,” calling for “immediate action” to be taken.
Ogles, who is running in the Republican primary in Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District on August 1 and has received an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, previously introduced articles of impeachment against Biden and Harris last year.
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), the third-ranking House Republican, also introduced a resolution that would have the GOP-led House condemn Harris for her failure as the Biden administration’s “border czar” to resolve the migrant crisis. The resolution “strongly condemns the Biden Administration and its Border Czar, idiot Kamala Harris’s, failure to secure the United States border.
It also “affirms that the American people deserve elected officials who understand the gravity of the crisis at the border and who will execute the policies to fix the border crisis,” stating that the continuation of the Biden-Harris border policies would be disastrous for both the United States and the American people.
In March 2021, shortly after Biden and Harris took office, he tasked her with addressing the then-mounting illegal immigration and border security crisis, which Republicans largely blame on Biden’s reversal of former President Donald Trump’s successful policies upon taking office. At the time, Harris said her objective would be to “address the root causes…that cause people to make the trek.
Since then, however, illegal migrant crossings have hit and broken several records, and the issue of illegal immigrant crime and overcrowding in major cities has become a significant 2024 campaign issue, which plays to Trump’s favor.
First Lady Jill Biden was also called out for “elder abuse” by Trump 2024 national press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who argues that many can now see President Joe Biden’s noticeable decline in mental acuity, which left many Americans concerned about his ability to continue serving as president.
Leavitt said that the majority of the American public agrees with her assertion and called on Jill Biden to take care of her husband in Delaware instead of continuing to lie to the American people. She also criticized the media for being complicit in covering up the Democrat Party’s alleged cover-up over the last four years regarding President Biden’s mental state.
