Marla Maples, ex-wife of former President Donald Trump, recently revealed her willingness to assist with the potential 2024 campaign. In a rare interview, the 60-year-old actress told The Evening Standard that she is open to even being his vice president. Despite her ex-husband’s recent legal troubles, Maples expressed her belief in Trump’s innocence and dismissed his guilty verdict this May regarding the hush money trial.
Maples shares daughter Tiffany Trump with Donald Trump and mentioned that her willingness to help him with his political endeavors is not impacted by any past issues or legal troubles. She stated, “I do know my daughter’s father well enough to know that he’s never had to push himself on another person.
In terms of potentially serving as Trump’s vice president, Maples said, “Someone would have to ask my ex-husband about that,” with a laugh. She added that she is open to any opportunity to serve and help the Trump family.
The Evening Standard also reported sources who believe Maples could see herself in the role of vice president. However, when asked for comment, Trump’s campaign has not yet responded.
Marla Maples and Donald Trump have a history dating back to 1985 when they met during a charity event while Trump was still married to his first wife, Ivana Trump. They wed in 1993 but eventually divorced in 1997, with Maples receiving a $2 million settlement in 1999. Despite their past, the two were seen being friendly and posing for pictures together at Tiffany Trump’s rehearsal dinner in 2022.
