Poll: Majority Doubt Biden’s Cognitive Capacity; Growing Calls for No Re-Election

A recent CBS News/YouGov poll has revealed a significant increase in the number of Americans doubting President Joe Biden’s mental and cognitive capacity to serve as president, with 72 percent expressing concern. This marks a seven-point increase from just three weeks ago. In comparison, voters are divided on former President Donald Trump’s mental and cognitive capacity for the job, with 50 percent saying he does and 49 percent saying he does not.

The poll results indicate that an overwhelming majority of Americans, including almost half of his own party members, believe that Biden should not seek reelection. In total, 72 percent of respondents told CBS/YouGov that the president should not run for reelection, which includes a surprising 46 percent of Democrats expressing dissatisfaction with their party’s leader.

Over the weekend, President Joe Biden met with family members at Camp David to discuss future plans and actions moving forward. While many on the left have called for him to drop out of the race, this is unlikely to happen as per advisers who spoke to CNN. They described the family gathering as a platform where members offered their “unequivocal support” to the president in his bid for reelection.

The Biden family discussed possible staffing changes and whether any of the president’s top advisors should be fired following his debacle during the debate with former President Donald Trump. Florida attorney John Morgan, one of the Democratic Party’s most prolific donors, criticized senior adviser Anita Dunn and her husband, Bob Bauer, who serves as Biden’s personal attorney.

Despite calls for him to withdraw from the presidential race following his poor debate performance and lobbying efforts from the leftist media, CNN has reported that President Joe Biden is not considering dropping out of the race. According to the network, he remains committed to participating in a second debate scheduled for September 10th, hosted by ABC News.

An adviser to the president shared that there were no plans to make significant staffing changes, and they drew comparisons between Obama’s first debate performance in 2012, which was also criticized as lackluster but did not result in calls for his resignation. This situation, however, sees Democrats calling for President Joe Biden to step down from office.
