NYC Teen Charged in Triple Shooting That Left Two Dead, Including Beloved Pizza Joint Worker

In a tragic incident, a 16-year-old alleged gunman has been arrested by the US Marshals Service for a triple shooting in Manhattan. The shooter has no criminal history and was apprehended at an apartment complex on Mosholu Parkway in the Bronx. He has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and two weapons possession charges. The motive behind the shooting is still unknown, as well as whether the alleged shooter knew his victims.

The incident occurred near West 207 Street and 10th Avenue in Inwood on Sunday night. Two deceased men, Alejandro Ramirez (40) and James Michael (44), both from the Bronx were shot at around 11:45 p.m. EMS rushed them to local hospitals in critical condition, but they could not be saved.

Ramirez was remembered fondly by community members as a beloved worker at Johnny’s Pizza on Dyckman Street. He was known for always giving food to anyone who was hungry and had a cheerful demeanor, often greeting customers with a smile and a joke. A Facebook post from the pizza place workers mourned their fallen colleague, describing him as a “great man, a hard worker, and a loving friend and father.

A GoFundMe campaign was set up to help Ramirez’s family cover funeral costs for their beloved husband and father. As of Wednesday afternoon, the campaign had raised about $7,500 of its $10,000 goal.

The community members expressed their outrage and grief at the senseless violence that took the life of a well-respected member of the neighborhood. Many called for the alleged shooter to be tried as an adult and emphasized the need for better control over youth in the area.
