A shocking video has surfaced, capturing the chilling moment armed carjackers attacked a Mississippi family in their own driveway on Friday. The doorbell camera footage obtained by local news station WAPT shows two men with at least one gun pointed at a woman, Heather Allen, and her adult son standing next to a black car parked in the driveway of their Jackson home.
The video reveals a gunshot as the pair ducks and hides behind the car while the men approach them, brandishing the firearm. One of the men then proceeds to open the driver’s side door and forcibly removes Allen’s daughter from the vehicle, climbing into the driver’s seat himself.
The suspect pointed a gun in the face of Allen’s other son, who was still inside the car, according to the video. Despite this, her son managed to escape the vehicle and run out. However, Allen’s two young grandkids, her daughter’s children, were still trapped inside.
With no choice but to risk it all, Heather Allen decided to grab her grandkids out of the car while the two suspects repeatedly demanded the keys from her. To make the men leave, she hurled her own keys at them and they took off in her car that was parked on the front lawn. The entire ordeal is captured on video.
The assailants managed to flee with Allen’s vehicle but were apprehended just two blocks away about 40 minutes after the carjacking, according to Jackson police. They recovered Allen’s vehicle largely undamaged and it is currently in police possession as they process it for evidence.
Heather Allen described the armed carjacking incident as a traumatic experience that has left her family shaken up, with her eldest son suffering from anxiety and her daughter experiencing shock. Despite having lived in Jackson for just three months, Allen is now considering leaving the area after this harrowing event.
As of yet, no arrests have been made in connection with this violent carjacking incident.
