Former Miss USA contestants are calling for the release of former Utah representative Noelia Voigt from her non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with the organization following her recent resignation.
The demand comes after a joint statement was released by former Miss USA titleholders, which was posted by Miss Wisconsin USA 2023 Alexis Loomans on Instagram.
The statement claims to speak on behalf of the majority of the members of the Miss USA class of 2023 and expresses support for Voigt’s decision to leave the organization in order to prioritize her wellbeing.
The joint statement demands that Voigt be released from her NDA ‘so that she is free to speak on her experiences and time as Miss USA.’ Furthermore, it calls for full transparency for contestants in the class of 2024 and beyond.
The former titleholders are requesting a response from the Miss USA organization within 24 hours.
Just two days after Noelt Voigt resigned from her position as Miss USA representative, Miss Teen USA UmaSofia Srivastava announced her resignation in an Instagram post, which appeared to be strikingly similar to Voigt’s own announcement.
In her post, Srivastava stated that she has decided to resign due to a lack of alignment between her personal values and the direction of the organization.
Noelia Voigt announced her departure from the organization in an Instagram post on Monday, citing her decision to prioritize her mental and physical wellbeing.
She expressed the importance of making decisions that feel best for one’s mental health and shared how meaningful her journey as Miss USA has been.
Following Voigt’s announcement, the Miss USA Organization released its own statement on social media, expressing gratitude for her service as Miss USA and stating that they respect and support her decision to step down from her duties.
The organization also noted that it is in the process of transferring Voigt’s responsibilities to a successor.
Miss USA is a national beauty pageant that selects the entrant from the United States in the Miss Universe competition, which has been held every year since 1952.
