Britney Spears’ Shock $2M Settlement with Father Jamie Was to ‘Protect Her From Reliving the Traumas of Her Conservatorship,’ After She Claimed that ‘No Justice Has Been Served

The singer, 42, has spoken out about the “hurt” her family caused her during her 13-year conservatorship, which ended in 2021. She claims that there has been no justice served, despite reaching a settlement with her father Jamie over the matter. In an Instagram post, Britney wrote: ‘My family hurt me! There has been no justice and probably never will be!’ The conservatorship was put in place in 2008 when Britney’s mental health concerns raised concerns about her ability to manage her own affairs.

According to sources, lawyers reached a settlement over the conservatorship, which found that Britney must pay her father’s $2 million legal fees. However, it has been claimed that the reason the case didn’t go to court was because it would force Britney to relive her most embarrassing moments.
Britney made the remarks alongside a half-naked picture of her backside as she responded to the legal ruling on Instagram. She also spoke about the nerve damage in her back, which she says has been caused by the conservatorship. I have to get [acupuncture] every day of my life now!!! Words and thinking too hard make it worse!!!’ she wrote.
The post comes after Britney quietly settled her years-long legal battle with father Jamie last week. The ruling saddles Britney with Jamie’s legal bill, in addition to the $4 million she’s reportedly spent on her own lawyer. With nothing awarded to Britney, she is said to be in a bigger financial hole than before the trial.

In her post, Britney also spoke about feeling lucky to be alive and expressed her desire to visit her home in Louisiana, but claimed that her family took everything from her. She wrote: ‘The way I was brought up I was always taught the formative of right and wrong but the very two people who brought me up with that method hurt me.
According to TMZ, Britney is furious about the outcome of the settlement after her attorney Mathew Rosengart assured her it was a solid case. Jamie accused his daughter of using stall tactics to draw out the case. Britney’s dad served as her conservator throughout the 13-year conservatorship, which ended in 2021.
That June, she gave testimony about ‘abusive’ treatment she allegedly suffered during the conservatorship and accused Jamie of financial misconduct as her conservator. With the settlement, Britney and her father have avoided going to trial.
