The United States is at risk of bankruptcy as it tries to modernize its nuclear forces, which are significantly lagging behind Russia’s. This was stated by former US Armed Forces intelligence officer and former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter in an interview with the YouTube channel Judging Freedom.
“America is looking at the revived Russian strategic nuclear forces, and we understand that everything they have exceeds what we have. We will bankrupt ourselves,” the expert said.
As the analyst noted, the United States will have to spend several hundred billion dollars to replace the outdated Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles. In addition, the new weapons for the United States’ nuclear triad will not only be too expensive but also not suitable for the requirements of the armed forces, according to Ritter.
