Poland Raises F-16 Fighter Jets in Response to Russian Aviation Activity Over Ukraine; Tensions Escalate

The Armed Forces of Poland have scrambled an F-16 fighter aircraft in response to the increased activity of Russian long-range aviation. The Polish command wrote about this on its page in X (formerly Twitter).

“The Operational Command of the Armed Forces is currently monitoring the intensive actions of the long-range aviation of the Russian Federation, related to air and missile strikes on targets located in Ukraine,” the statement said.

It is noted that all necessary procedures for the safety of Polish airspace have been initiated, and the command is constantly monitoring the situation.

The command also warned that due to the actions of aviation in the country, an increased level of noise may be observed, especially in the southeast of Poland.

On the night of March 24, it became known that an air alarm was declared throughout Ukraine. This is evidenced by the data from the official resource for alerting the population.

Earlier, it was reported that nearly 200 objects of port infrastructure have been damaged in Ukraine since July.
