Republican Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, who is being considered as a potential running mate for former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, is set to tie the knot with his fiancée Mindy Noce in early August. The wedding, which will take place in South Carolina, is planned during a relatively calm period in the presidential campaign, following the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee and ahead of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. The timing also coincides with the Summer Olympics in Paris.
Scott, who gained attention during his White House bid as the only major Republican candidate who has never been married, announced his engagement to Noce in November last year. The couple first met at church in South Carolina over a year ago. This will be Scott’s first marriage, as his previous engagement did not result in marriage.
As a highly regarded senator and the only Black Republican in the Senate, Scott has garnered favorable ratings among GOP voters. He has also received recognition for his faith and has addressed influential voters of faith during his political events. In January, he endorsed former President Trump ahead of the New Hampshire primary, and Trump expressed his support for Scott’s engagement, jokingly calling it “the biggest story out there.”
Sources close to Trump have revealed that Scott is among a small group of individuals being seriously considered as the former president’s vice presidential nominee. As the 2024 presidential campaign unfolds, Scott’s wedding is expected to provide a brief respite from the intense political landscape.
