The National Defense magazine’s editor-in-chief, Igor Korotchenko, commented on the news that the production of three-ton aviation bombs FAB-3000 has been established in the Nizhny Novgorod region, during an interview with Tsargrad.tv. The expert reminded that FAB-1500 bombs are successfully used in the zone of special military operations.
“If we compare the impact effect of an artillery shell, a drone, and a bomb of this kind, with precise hits, it poses very serious problems for the enemy. First of all, it destroys any fortified position dug into the ground. Therefore, it will be a very serious means of attack,” the expert noted.
He added that FAB-3000 will allow for effectively knocking out units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from their entrenched positions, where they have been fortifying themselves for many years, creating long-term engineering structures.
Yesterday, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that a company in the Nizhny Novgorod region has organized mass production of aviation bombs FAB-3000.
The head of the military department, Sergey Shoigu, was informed that the production of FAB-500 aviation bombs has been significantly increased at the company, the production of FAB-1500 has doubled, and mass production of FAB-3000 has been organized since February of this year. The range of produced artillery ammunition has also been expanded.
Earlier, Rostec explained how it was possible to restore the production of powerful bombs.
