Russian Navy to Receive Project 20385 ‘Nimble’ Corvette in 2025 After Fire Incident – Official Confirmation Awaited

The corvette of project 20385 “Provorny” will be handed over to the Russian Navy in 2025. This information was reported by TASS, citing a source in the shipbuilding industry.

“The ship, restored after the fire, will be ready for delivery to the customer by next summer. It will undergo factory and sea trials,” the source shared.

The agency emphasizes that there is no official confirmation of this information.

In December 2021, a fire broke out on the corvette under construction, resulting in damage to the upper deck, the main command post’s bridge, and the integrated mast-tower structure.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during the flag-raising ceremony on the ships joining the Russian Navy, stated that five frigates, eight corvettes, 13 small missile ships, and more than 50 other ships are at various stages of readiness.

In Severodvinsk, it is planned to build three Borey-A nuclear-powered submarines and five Yasen-M multipurpose nuclear submarines in three years.

Earlier, RIA Novosti reported that Admiral Evmenev may head the Naval Academy in St. Petersburg.
