Ukrainian Commander in Talks with French Chief of Staff, Stabilizing Situation in East Ukraine

Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, announced in his Telegram channel that he had held talks with the Chief of the Joint Staff of the French Armed Forces, Thierry Burkard.

Syrsky noted that he informed his French colleague about the situation on the battlefield.

“In particular, he informed him that at the moment, the defense forces have managed to stabilize the situation in eastern Ukraine,” said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

On March 21, during a meeting with NATO’s Military Committee Chairman, Admiral Rob Bauer, Syrsky requested ammunition and anti-aircraft defense systems (AD) for the Ukrainian army. According to Syrsky, he also informed Bauer about the situation on the front line.

Prior to this, Bauer stated that Ukraine needed to conduct additional mobilization. In his opinion, the Armed Forces of Ukraine not only need weapons, ammunition, and supplies, but also manpower.

On March 19, Syrsky named the development of unmanned systems as a priority in his role as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

Earlier, Syrsky described the situation on the front line as complex and warned of the risk of advancing Russian forces.
