The Use of a Soviet Missile by the Ukrainian Armed Forces Indicates a Lack of Military Equipment, Expert Says
In a recent interview with “Lenta.ru,” military expert and reserve Captain Vasiliy Dandykin suggested that the Ukrainian army’s use of the S-200 missile, which belonged to a Soviet air defense complex, indicates a shortage of other military equipment.
According to the expert, this missile has a range of over 200 kilometers and was previously used as part of the USSR’s arsenal, and later Ukraine’s. It possesses a significant destructive effect.
Dandykin claims that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already deployed this missile to Crimea, and Russian military forces have intercepted it over the Kursk region.
“This indicates that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are currently facing problems with missiles such as the Storm Shadow and others,” the specialist revealed.
He also noted that Russian air defense systems are fully capable of intercepting the S-200 missile.
As previously reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, on the evening of March 19, Russian air defense forces intercepted a modified S-200 surface-to-air missile, which had been reconfigured to target ground targets, over the Kursk region. They also destroyed a Patriot surface-to-air missile over the Belgorod region.
Earlier, Russian designers unveiled the “Stepashka” anti-drone rifle.
