In yet another display of the disregard for personal responsibility and the well-being of their children, a Georgia couple was arrested on a Florida beach after being found asleep and intoxicated, while their young children were left unsupervised. The couple, Alyssia Langley and Timothy Stephens, both 27, were discovered by authorities in a drunken stupor on Daytona Beach. Shockingly, it took multiple attempts to wake them up, highlighting the extent of their intoxication. Body camera footage obtained by local news outlet FOX 35 Orlando even shows Stephens, when asked about the whereabouts of their children, motioning towards the ocean. It is truly mind-boggling that these individuals would drive to a beach, become completely obliterated, and allow their 5- and 7-year-old children to roam unsupervised.
Sheriff Mike Chitwood, rightfully appalled by the couple’s negligence, expressed his disbelief at their actions. “It just boggles my mind that you would drive here and get obliterated and allow a 5- and a 7-year-old to wander off,” he told the local station. And he’s absolutely right. What kind of parent prioritizes their own indulgence over the safety and well-being of their young children?
Thankfully, the children were found safe, albeit unsupervised, in a nearby hotel pool. However, the long-lasting effects of such neglectful behavior cannot be understated. Langley and Stephens have clearly demonstrated that they are ill-equipped to handle the responsibilities of parenthood.

Additionally, Stephens faces charges for attempting to escape from deputies and for consuming alcoholic beverages on the beach, which is against the law.
