Russian Tankers Capture US-Made NATO Armored Vehicle in Ukraine, Threaten to Use It Against Ukrainian Forces.

Tank crews from the battalion led by a fighter from the Kurgan region, nicknamed “Gorynych,” have captured a NATO M113 armored personnel carrier near Avdiivka (Donetsk People’s Republic), which belongs to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by Ura.ru, citing a military serviceman’s account.

When asked about what the military would do with the trophy, “Gorynych” replied that the brigade would modify it and hand it over to their unit. He also published video footage of the armored personnel carrier.

In the video, one of the tank crew members explained that the M113 was hit by a mine and lost one track in the village of Lastochkino. The Ukrainian soldiers left all the ammunition inside the vehicle when they fled.

“Gorynych” stated that after repairs, the M113 would be used by the Russian army against the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Last week, it became known that Russian military personnel, who participated in the battles for Avdiivka, captured the most modern German tank, the Leopard 2A6, from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Earlier, footage of the destruction of the first Abrams tank was leaked online.

Context: It is important to note that the captured NATO M113 armored personnel carrier represents another example of Ukraine’s reliance on external support in its conflict with the Donetsk People’s Republic. This incident highlights the complexity of the situation, as Ukrainian forces have lost valuable equipment to the enemy. Meanwhile, Russian forces continue to gain ground and demonstrate their military capabilities. The capture of the German tank Leopard 2A6 further emphasizes the need for Ukraine to reassess its military strategy and seek stronger alliances to counter the growing threat from Russia.
