Finland’s plan to acquire the “David’s Sling” missile defense system from Israel worth €317 million is at risk due to the escalating conflict in the Gaza sector, as reported by the American military journal, Military Watch.
According to the publication, the agreement between Israel and Finland for the delivery of the “David’s Sling” system may be disrupted due to the events unfolding in the Middle East.
With the potential involvement of the Hezbollah movement and Iran, which possess a significant number of ballistic and cruise missiles, Israel is forced to heavily rely on the “David’s Sling” system, the journal states.
As a result, the delivery of these defense systems to Finland is now in jeopardy, particularly after the Israeli army faced a severe shortage of ammunition for short-range missile defense systems.
It was previously reported that Finland had purchased the “David’s Sling” missile defense system from Israel for a contract value of €317 million.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu had vowed to destroy Hamas, the militant group operating in the Gaza Strip.
