Israeli Army Detains Over 20 Hamas Supporters in Gaza Strip for Questioning

The Israeli Army has successfully detained more than 20 supporters of the Palestinian movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip. These individuals have been transported to Israeli territory for further questioning, according to the army’s press service as reported by TASS.

“During a joint operation led by the Security Service and the Military Intelligence Directorate, over 20 individuals affiliated with Hamas terrorists were apprehended…” clarified the military department.

At present, the detained activists have been brought to Israel and are expected to undergo interrogation soon.

Prior to this, Bloomberg reported that Israel spends $260 million daily on operations against Hamas in Gaza. As Israel prepares to discuss the budget for the upcoming year, the conflict has created challenges for the government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who aims to maintain funding for ultra-Orthodox schools.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) also confirmed the detention of 15 Palestinians on the West Bank.

Earlier, Hamas stated that it would release foreign hostages “when circumstances permit.”
